On Saturday, July 28th, former rapper Napoleon of the Outlawz (Br. Mutah) talked to the youth about his journey from the depth of darkness to the light of Islam. The event was held at the Farview Park in Minneapolis. The event's main purpose was to encourage young people to look beyond the temptations of the street and seek the truth that lies within Islam. Speaking from his experiences, Br. Mutah told the youth not to be deceived by the materialistic life, which has no real benefits. He stressed the importance of knowing one's deen, noting that some people are Muslims by name only and know little about the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. He reminded the youth that instead of looking towards musicians and celebrities as role models, Muslims should instead look to the example of the Prophet (s.a.w) and the righteous predecessors. Br. Mutah also visited the Cedar-Riverside area and Masjid al Huda. Alhamdulillah, we are grateful to Allah for giving us this opportunity and thank all those who helped to make this event possible. We hope that all those who attended benefitted from Br. Mutah's inspiring message - May Allah reward him for his efforts.
