Post event: Pictuers from this gathering
And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you, when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by his favor, brothers.- [Surah Al-Imran:103]
We are all brothers and sisters in Islam brought together in faith by our belief in our Lord and His messenger (saw) -Laillaha illa Allah, Muhammadun Rasulullah.
Let’s hold fast to the rope of Allah and celebrate our deen and unity as Muslims at the Building Blocks’ Shahada Social Potluck Party. Bring something to share and we’ll also have plenty of treats including some delicious BBQ.
This gathering is for EVERYONE! if you’re a new Muslim, you’ll get to connect and build friendships with diverse members of the local Muslim Community. And if you’re not a new Muslim, it’s the perfect opportunity to welcome those who are, offering support, encouragement, and reinforcing the spirit of brotherly and sisterly love for the sake of Allah.
Where: Al-Farooq Youth & Family Center in Bloomington & Smith Park.
When: Saturday, May 31st 4 PM
Why: Because we all love Islam & Muslims!

“And removing a harmful thing from the path is a charitable act.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
On April 25th Building Blocks is facilitating an Earth day Da’wah event – a great opportunity to convey the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW) -in collaboration with several local and international organizations.
Allah (SWT) says: “Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: “I will create a vicegerent on earth.” They said: “Wilt Thou place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood?- whilst we do celebrate Thy praises and glorify Thy holy (name)?” He said: “I know what ye know not.” (Surah Baqarah 2:30)
We were created and given the responsibility to be the earth’s protectors – enlivening the Sunnah on Earth Day is therefore a wonderful way to show our love for Allah (SWT) and the final Messenger (SAW).
On that day, we will partner locally with the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board to do Earth Day Cleanup along the Mississippi River from 9:30am-12:00pm. We are especially encouraging the youth to join us in these efforts that will increase their iman and brotherhood and sisterhood as well as convey the true message of Islam.
The registration fee is $10 per person which includes a “Who Do You Love” t-shirt, all cleaning materials, and an invitation to da’wah training and events that will take place all summer around the Twin Cities in coordination with over 60 countries around the world.
All masajid, organizations and schools that take part are also encouraged to organize a cleanup activity after Salatul Dhuhr on the same day around your masjid/organization/school and its neighborhood from 1:30-3:00pm. We will assist you with logistics and cleaning supplies. This effort is yet another way to take care of our environment, our neighbors and to build bridges of communication and understanding.
REGISTER YOUR TEAM by April 19th so we know how many people to expect. More details will be provided once you sign up inshaAllah.
Let’s work together to enliven the Sunnah and transform our values into action.

The moment you all have been waiting for is FINALLY here! We are now accepting applications for the Al-Isra Retreat 2015 that will take place this year Friday July 24-Sunday, July 26.
Our theme this year is “The Fault in Our Hearts” and like many have guessed, will have a lot to do with Tazkiya, (purification of the soul) self-reflection, and much more.
We are also back at Baker Near Wilderness Front located in Maple Plain, MN (a favorite site for many) and look forward to many more memories. We will not only have an awesome Cook this summer making the delicious meals that you all love, but also a very special guest for camp.
This year’s camp will be unlike other camps. It will CHANGE the way you look at your heart. You will come back wishing you could do it all over again and with memories and lessons to last you a lifetime.
Knowing all of this now, how can you wait another second to register? Do it today and reserve your spot for Al-Isra Retreat 2015 “The Fault in Our Hearts”
